2018 Read-a-thon Details to Come in the Spring!

We need one additional chair - please contact Natalie Alderete & Heather Myers if interested!

Camino Pablo Teachers and Students are gearing up for the 2017 Read-a-thon!  The focus of this endeavor is reading for fun!  Students will record their reading time during the duration of the Read-a-thon and collect pledges from family members.  All students are encouraged to participate with or without pledges.  We are hoping for 100% participation this year!

The funds raised during the Read-a-thon will go to the new One School, One Book program.  We are excited for the Read-a-thon to support this new community endeavor!

In addition, we will also be holding a Book Drive to benefit Super Stars Literacy (SSL), an early literacy intervention program that supports at-risk early elementary students. SSL provides extended daily literacy programming and outreach activities like family reading nights. Last year, the group’s comprehensive education reached over 1000 children across 9 Bay Area schools, including expanding a kindergarten program in Newark, piloting a successful Saturday Reading Academy in East Oakland, and supporting English Language Learners in Hayward. Please help support this worthy organization with a book donation during the CP Read-a-thon!  K-2nd grade books are especially needed, but any gently used books are welcome.  Donation bins will be in the main hallway.

The Read-a-thon will run from January 20th - February 3rd.

Funds from the Readathon will support the new One School, One Book program.
